There are two main kinds of blogs: private blogs and commercial blogs.
Private blogs are those kind of blogs where people write just for sharing with their friends and visitors in general their life experiences or just stories that they have been told. Here you can find stories about almost everything, fantastic pictures or just just a bunch of interesting things.
Then we have those blogs that I like to call “commercial blogs”. Why ? Well, because we are talking about blogs that have a main purpose that is making money either by selling something or through advertising networks such as google adsense, adbrite, bidvertiser or any other similar to this ones. This kind of blogs can have original content with reliable information or just a bunch of garbage. So the first impression is extremelly important and will decide if your visitor will return or just close the window disappointed.
These commercial blogs can be great sources of information if they are directed to a specific niche and most important if the regular visitors are people interested in exchanging their opinions through comments. In this case a this blogs can be even better than forums because people will just place comments about the topic that is being discussed. Personally, I have 5 “commercial” blogs in my favorites that I visit regularly and from which I have learned a lot.
Well…… YEAH, I know but completely out of the this article subject 
This long explanation was important to give more impact to the following tips.If you have a private blog than you can just spread the word among your friends and they will surely visit it, but if you own a commercial blog than we need to promote it and the most you promote it the more money you can make. Although there are a lot ways to promote your blog, such as forum signatures, newsletters, social bookmarking, email signatures or even paid advertising, my favorite is… comments in other blogs and forums.
This seems simple, but it’s not as simple as that because I’m not refering to any kind of blogs or forums. You must search for forums and blogs where your blog niche is being discussed by people with knowledge in this niche but also by newbiews trying to find out more about it because they are your potential costumers and regular visitors. When you place a interesting post promote it in other blogs and forums. Go to these specific blogs and forums and if the topic you’ve just wrote about is being discussed comment it by providing a small introduction to your post. If this introduction is interesting you don’t even need to ask them to visit your blog because they will automatically do that. Wouldn’t you ?
